Swedish band Crashdiet was the first sleaze band in over 10 years, that in 2004 was signed directly with a major label - Universal Music. There debut cd "Rest in Sleaze" landed directly on the Swedish hit list as #12.

Afterwards Dave Lepard the singer of the band committed suicide on the 20th of January 2006 and the rest of the band members broke-up. After a year of greave the other 3 members met up and discussed the future.

Dave Lepard's family was all for their choice and future with the new singer Olliver Twisted from Reckless Love. In 2007 Crashdiet released Unattractive Revolution that started as #11 on the Swedish hit list.

At the end of 2008 Olliver Twisted left the band and now they are without a singer again. The guitarist Martin Sweet is now on tour with Gemini Five as they at the same time had lost their guitarist.

Interview with Martin Sweet from the swedish sleaze band Crashdiet

Many people are unsure about the future of Crashdiet. Do you already have a new singer or are you looking for one ? And if so are you looking outside of Sweden again. And what does it take to be the new singer of Crashdiet ?

## We have some things going on. You´ll hear all about it eventually...
We always keep our eyes, ears n asses open for new talents but right now we´re not doin any auditions.

Were you guys tempted to quit when Olliver left the band ? Not many bands survive 3 different singers on their first 3 releases...

## To set the record straight, Olli was fired, he didnt leave the band. He just wasnt dedicated enough to CRASHDÏET so we kicked him out.

There's a lot of really good demos with Crashdiet floating around on youtube. Are you considering releasing some of them in the future ?

## We might release them or just give them away for free since they´re all out there anyway.

There has also been rumors about a dvd from Crashdiet. Any news on that ?

## It´s true.

We've seen you guys at some of the Hardcore Superstar concerts both on and off stage. Is there a special bond between the 2 bands ?

## Yes, we have a special connection with those guys. They are very dear friends of ours.

You are writing and playing with Gemini Five now. How did that come about ? And are you going to stay with them as a regular ?

## Its only temporary until they find a new guitar player. The song writing collaboration will continue though.

Who writes the songs in Crashdiet ? And do you have enough material for a new cd ?

## We all write these days.

If you could choose your own fate.. What would the future of Crashdiet be like ?

## To keep spreading a decease called sleaze to the rest of the world!
